L'équipe de trois apprentis ingénieurs

Selected by CNES, the "Dream" drone of ENSTA Bretagne's co-operative engineers will defy gravity!

A group of 3 co-operative engineers on a co-operative engineering course at ENSTA Bretagne has just been selected by CNES to take part in the 2024 edition of the "Parabole" program. Each year, this program supports high school and university students who want to carry out experiments under close to weightlessness (or microgravity) conditions.

They'll have the opportunity to take part in a parabolic flight of the A310-0g, the scientific Airbus that recreates zero-gravity aerospace flight conditions for Europe.

The project presented by Arnaud Bleunven, Alfred Deduyer and Teys Cocset is entitled "Dream", standing for DRone En Accélérations Modifiées. It combines skills in embedded systems (the drone's electronic and IT "brain" and its sensors) and mechanical design (optimized architecture and mechanisms).

The three students will design and test the flying drone they have imagined under actual weightlessness conditions, with the aim of ensuring that it remains stable in flight when subjected to several acceleration factors, in particular under microgravity conditions.

See you in 10 months' time for the real-life test aboard the A310-0g and the first weightless flight of their Dream drone.
