The godparent of the cohort spoke to the students with sincerity, sharing not only some moving memories of his childhood in Brest and student years, but above all, his vision for society, the role of engineers and the major challenges which they may chose to take on.
As this is the 50th anniversary since man walked on the Moon – Pierre-Eric Pommellet has chosen to name the 2020 cohort “Jean-Loup Chrétien”.
Jean-Loup Chrétien made a surprise visit to the students. General, engineer, fighter pilot and astronaut, he outlined his career path and gave them some advice on how to make dreams become reality: humility, teamwork and perserverance…

Signature of a new cooperation agreement
The digital transformation of systems, autonomous robotics, the resistance of naval applications are strategic themes for cooperation and innovation for Thales and ENSTA Bretagne. The event provided the opportunity for Pierre-Eric Pommellet and Pascal Pinot, Director of ENSTA Bretagne, to formalize further cooperation in research and training between ENSTA Bretagne and Thales, the 2nd most important industrial partner of the engineering school.
