ENSTA Bretagne : portrait de Mathilde, doctorante en suivi des cétacés par acoustique passive
Mathilde
PhD student working on passive acoustics to monitor cetaceans / Lab-STICC
A better understanding of the movements and behavior of cetaceans through their vocalizations: this is the focus of Mathilde’s thesis, which is based on passive acoustics, a non-intrusive technique.

Portrait de Perrine, doctorante à l'ENSTA Bretagne / Lab-sticc en intelligence artificielle
Perrine
PhD Student
The ocean covers 70.8% of the Earth’s surface: a vast space that is still poorly understood. The aim of Perrine’s thesis is to combine different types of ocean observation data (satellite images, buoys, boats, etc.) and use artificial intelligence to gain a better understanding of the underlying physical phenomena.

ENSTA Bretagne : portrait de Mathilde, doctorante
Mathilde
PhD student in mechanical sciences
Mathilde is a PhD student in mechanical sciences at ENSTA Bretagne / IRDL (Naval Group CIFRE* thesis). Her thesis aims to contribute to the development of new sizing methods for a new generation of marine propellers produced using arc-wire 3D printing.
Pierre-Yves, doctorant à l'ENSTA Bretagne
Pierre-Yves
PhD student in mechanical sciences
In his thesis, Pierre-Yves seeks to identify when and how a fracture appears between two very different materials: a metal and an elastomer, such as rubber. With his research’s direct application being tires, Pierre-Yves performs experiments on representative samples of vehicle tires to study interface failures between the rigid part (the cord or structure) of the tire and the flexible part (rubber).

Portrait d'Hugo, diplômé ENSTA Bretagne
Hugo
PhD student at the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA)
Hugo chose to combine his interest in mathematics with a better understanding of the environment. Currently a PhD student in the field of acoustic waves in the marine environment, he uses artificial intelligence to automatically define the origin of captured waves.
