Cordées de la réussite: ENSTA Mobilized

ENSTA Bretagne
Every year, many ENSTA students from both campuses (Paris-Saclay and Brest) get involved in the Cordées de la Réussite. Scientific mediation, cultural discoveries, and computer programming workshops for women... the wide range of activities on offer are all opportunities for engineering students to interact with "roped-in" middle and high school students, and to act as a lever for equal opportunities by sparking vocations.

On the Brest campus, around 40 students in their 1st year of studies (equivalent to L3) are involved in the program, accompanied by 8 supervisors.

The national week of the Cordées de la Réussite, from February 3 to 8, 2025, corresponds to the launch of the scheme with a first teamwork session. Eight schools in Finistère are partners in these Cordées, i.e. 2 lycées and 6 collèges.  From now until the end of May, the "roped-in", per se, middle and high school students will be meeting the engineering students involved on a number of occasions, and benefiting from a variety of initiatives. These include "L Codent L créent", a program that relies on running computer coding workshops for female students to show them that IT professions are creative and accessible. Visits to the campus are also scheduled to allow them a better insight into the day-to-day life of engineering students.

5 étudiants du campus de Paris-Saclay en visite au mémorial du Mont-Valérien

On the Paris-Saclay campus, the "talents d'avenir" (talents of the future) project involves 25 ENSTA students working with approximately one hundred mentors in 4 colleges in Trappes (78) and Grigny (91).

In-class tutorials are designed to help 8th and 9th-year students feel less inhibited about pursuing higher education by getting them to talk about their desires, passions, and professional dreams. In addition to classroom activities, we regularly organize cultural events (museum visits, conferences, etc.). On Wednesday, February 5th, ENSTA tutors accompanied the high school students they supervise from Trappes on a highly symbolic visit to the Mont-Valérien memorial, a monument to the French combatants, resistance fighters, and deportees of the Second World War. A 2nd outing is scheduled for Saturday, February 8.
