Examples of some interesting tools for video acquisition, conversion and streaming are presented here.
For acquisition and conversion **ffmpeg** is a powerful tool. It can also be used for building video, adding effects and sound. For streaming **ffmpeg** can be used too. However, **gstreamer** is also intersecting in the way it pipes modules.
