Research
As an integral part of the academic research environment, the laboratories carry out high-quality scientific studies which in turn lead to an active publication policy. They also develop partnership and contract-based arrangements with research institutes and industrial firms working in their field of expertise.
Laboratories Today, ENSTA Bretagne's research is divided into four laboratories:
- IT Department This laboratory conducts research in the fields of Model-Drive Engineering, Ocean Sensing and Mapping, Radar and Electro-Magnetic Sensing, Passive Acoustics.
- LBMS (Brest Mechanics and Systems Laboratory ) This laboratory focuses its research on Material and assembly mechanics, Fluid, material and structure dynamics, Control and Diagnosis of Electromechanical systems.
- Human and Social Sciences Department Its research aims to improve knowledge about training and education methods in relation to the role of an Engineer.

Its main objective is to reinforce the level of excellence of its courses, contribute to the success of the institute towards its industrial partners and also develop an atmosphere of curiosity and innovation among students"
Our infrastructure and equipment: * 3,000 m² of laboratory * tri-axial fatigue platform * shock machine for fluids or solids * anechoic chamber in X-band * ocean research launch * CAD-CAM resources * computation cluster * software (Abaqus, Samcef, Fluent, Matlaab, etc;)

- 100 teacher-researchers and technical executives from the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Higher Education.
- 60 PhD students funded by the DGA, industrial partners (Thales, DCNS, etc.), Regional Council of Brittany, Brest Métropole Océane, of the MENRT.
