ICoURS'12 is organized by ENSTA Bretagne and its partners during the International Marine Science and Technology week (SEA TECH WEEK) from the 8th to the 12th October 2012, in Brest, France. 3 Themes : > 8 october : Quantitative Monitoring of Underwater Environment (Ecole navale, Ifremer, ENSTA Bretagne/Lab-STICC, IUEM/UBO) > 9-10 october : Detection and Classification of Underwater Targets (ENSTA Bretagne/Lab-STICC, DRDC-Atlantic). > 10-11 october : Advances in seafloor mapping sonar (Shom, Ifremer, Télécom Bretagne)

ICoURS'12 part 2 : Detection and Classification of Underwater Targets (ENSTA Bretagne/Lab-STICC, DRDC-Atlantic). The second and third days of the ICoURS'12 conference will be focused on the detection and the classification of underwater targets. This is the third conference in a series that started with DRDC-A in 2001 (CAD/CAC 2001 - Halifax, Canada) and Heriot-Watt University (DCUT - Edinburgh, Scotland) in 2007 about automatic target recognition in underwater environments. In addition to general detection and identification issues in sonar or video images, the conference will address specific themes as change detection and performance prediction. Authors will be notified by 23rd March 2012 and invited to submit a full paper by 28th May 2012. Final papers may be up to 8 pages in length, including figures.
