Laboratory for Extraction and Exploitation of Information in Uncertain Environments

The E³I² (its french acronym) is one of three laboratories making up the research center at ENSIETA. As its name indicates, the E³I² focuses on extracting and using data in uncertain environments, applied to the fields of sonar and radar Our objective is to succeed in producings smart self-controlled systems.

We are conducting some academic and industriael research studies to create decision systems often using uncertain, inaccurate and/or incomplete data. This can be found in a wide range of applications (such as electronic warfare, education, telecommunications, banks, supermarkets, etc.)

Main tasks

• Information systems linked to environmental data,
• Uncertain, corrupted or incomplete sensor data,
• Decision help for operators.

Fields of application

• Submarine acoustic: passive tomography, sedimentology, cartography, ...
• Communications: electromagnetic warfare, detection, location, identification, help and support for information analysts, etc.
• Radar: remote sensing, radio-navigation, classification and recognition, surveillance, intelligence systems with multiple sensors, etc.
